Doug Peris and how it all began<\/p><\/div>\n

In 2009, my BT team in Asia asked me (Jens Bertram) if we wanted to build huts for the Khmer people in Cambodia together, for the poorest people who have no future. I immediately agreed, and BT (British Telecom) arranged special leave for all of us. There, I met Doug Peris for the first time. He was a great role model for me and, after all these years, the kind of friend anyone could wish for. Doug organized everything back then together with Tabitha, a local aid organization, and he infected us all with his joy of charity. We continued this way, every year. And every year, our friends, families, colleagues, and business partners supported us so that we could even raise all the necessary donations. <\/p>\n

We met incredibly grateful people and were able to achieve so much with modest donations. So we simply continued helping in Cambodia. <\/p>\n

Tabitha employees and local helpers have returned to their families during the coronavirus pandemic. Janne Ritskes, Tabitha’s founder, has also retired. <\/p>\n

Then I started looking for new helpers on site and found them in VBC (Volunteering Build Cambodia) and the great team at Mr.Sinn<\/p>\n

Now, in 2025, we are, for the first time, able to issue official donation receipts to our supporters in Germany through the licensed association “Hands for Cambodia.” The Munich Tax Office separately confirmed our license pursuant to Section 60a Paragraph 1 of the German Fiscal Code (AO) on September 15, 2025, and confirmed that all statutory requirements are met. <\/p>\n

Now we can all do many more good things\u2764\ufe0f<\/p>\n
